StructuralEngineerLab · TOOL-010
Compare a user-supplied Demand with a user-supplied Allowable using a deterministic ratio only. TOOL-010 does not generate, infer, verify, or import Allowable from TOOL-001 through TOOL-009.
Neutral numeric context only
Enter Demand and Allowable explicitly. The calculator will report ratio, percent, and neutral threshold context only.
TOOL-010 is a deterministic user-defined ratio calculator. Both Demand and Allowable must be entered explicitly by the user. Its only calculation is utilization = demand / allowable, with percentage shown as ratio × 100.
Demand and Allowable must belong to the same physical quantity type. Compatible units are normalized to Canonical SI before division.
TOOL-010 reports only:
These threshold labels are neutral numeric context only. They are not PASS/FAIL, SAFE/UNSAFE, code-compliance, or safety conclusions.
Inputs: Demand = 80 kN, Allowable = 100 kN
Utilization ratio = 0.8, utilization percent = 80%, neutral context = Below user-defined allowable ratio.
Inputs: Demand = 120 MPa, Allowable = 150000 kPa
The values normalize to compatible Canonical SI units and produce utilization ratio = 0.8.
Inputs: Demand = 12 mm, Allowable = 15 mm
Utilization ratio = 0.8. This is not a code-compliance or safety conclusion.
Inputs: Demand = 125, Allowable = 100
Utilization ratio = 1.25, utilization percent = 125%, neutral context = Above user-defined allowable ratio. No FAIL or UNSAFE label is produced.
TOOL-010 calculates only utilization = demand / allowable and displays the same result as a percentage.
Both Demand and Allowable must be entered explicitly by the user. TOOL-010 does not generate, infer, verify, or import Allowable from TOOL-001 through TOOL-009.
Force, Moment, Stress/Pressure, Length/Deflection, Distributed Load, Area, Second Moment of Area, Section Modulus, and Dimensionless Ratio.
Yes, but only when the units belong to the same physical quantity type. Compatible units are converted to Canonical SI before the ratio is calculated.
These are neutral comparisons to the user-supplied Allowable denominator only. They are not PASS/FAIL, SAFE/UNSAFE, code-compliance, or safety conclusions.
No. It does not apply AISC, Eurocode, ACI, GB, or other design-code rules and does not determine code compliance.
No. It does not calculate material strength, section capacity, allowable stress, or design capacity.
No. Section recommendation and design optimization are outside TOOL-010 V1.
